UFC 242 Temporary Arena, Yas Island
The Brief
Support the delivery of a temporary arena structure and accompanying live concerts for UFC 242 on Yas Island, working alongside international production partner EDR across a three-month on-site programme.
My Role
As Assistant Project Manager, I worked on-site for three months, managing production timelines with suppliers, coordinating closely with contractors, and handling accreditation for the event.
The Challenge
Delivering a temporary arena structure to broadcast and live-event standard within a tight production window, while coordinating multiple contractor teams and keeping stakeholders aligned throughout.
Delivery
I attended client and stakeholder meetings throughout, and oversaw operations across every phase of the project — pre-production, live event days and dismantling — keeping timelines, contractors and accreditation processes on track.
Result
The temporary UFC arena and accompanying live concerts were delivered successfully across UFC 242's Abu Dhabi Showdown Week, supporting a high-profile international sporting event on Yas Island.
